We are closing in on the date. In fact we are less than ten days from go time. We have kept our race from everyone except our closest friends. Part of the reason is at we want this to be about us. My family, like many of yours, is complicated. Having To deal with the rest of the family, or having them chime in on our experience.
It has been a couple of weeks since I posted and I have been trying to figure out why this has become so important, and I realize that it isn't about me, it's about my daughter. She is very much like me, but unfortunately, to be like me is to be overweight as a child. I don't want her to suffer the same way I did, so I want my family to see the importance of being physically active. This isn't going to be the only race, it is only going to be the first. I can't wait to see where it takes us!
